This is a case of severe dental infection caused by root stumps. This patient is from rural area of Baglung. He is very poor; he didn’t have expenses even for a government hospital. We did the pus drainage free of cost. We had told him about the fatal consequences that may occur if the treatment was not completed. This patient was not worried about his infection he was actually worried about his financial and much worried about his home and family. At the last he ran out of hospital without bothering about the decayed teeth that had troubled so much .By this case history anybody can guess how careless people are regarding oral health in this part of world and how poor are they. This is a 12 year boy who came with severe pain and swelling 3 days back from the day we have taken this photo graph. We have examined him and found his centre incisors were decayed. We did the intra oral drainage and gave antibiotic. After management of this emergency treatment we gave him next appointment for follow up treatment. We have also found multiple decay in his permanent teeth, suggested him to fill those entire decayed teeth. This case was presented to us about 6 month back, till now he never turned up or followed his appointment. This type of situation is very common in our practice, due to lack of knowledge, social believes such as if multiple teeth is extracted person may become weak and may becomes mentally disable, weak eye sight etc. So every patient in our clinic our first prime job is to educate them about oral health.

The above photo graph is from one of the rural area dental camp and oral health program organized by Buddha Dental Care Centre has ran lots of program like this. To run these types of camps is not easy and it’s very expensive as well. From these camps we have found that most of the children do not brush their mouth properly or even not at all. Now a days in Nepal dietary habits is repeatly changing. We are trying to help these poor oral health conditions to become worse.
